Floor cushions are being pushed aside for the beanbag with a more structured shape and interesting covers. Look for handmade things like hand painted vases, plates and cable knit throws. The presence of organic shapes and hand made things scattered amongst your latest pieces grounds your overall feel around your home and gives a sense of comfort and style. Colours to look for this season, Grey is the new black. It goes with everything from cool whites to steely and cobalt blues, emerald and bamboo greens. Yellow is back but in a murky shade resembling mustard seeds and browns are richer, earthier tones than those of last season’s mochas. Throw in a mix of metallics, silver, gold, bronze and pewter to spice things up. |
